Reason (1988) - Three forms of knowing theory.

Does anybody know anything about this theory?

I'm a little confused as to the differences between his definitions of "Practical Knowing" and "Experiential Knowing"

Is he saying for instance, that one might know the processes that are involved in say.. constructing a piece of flat pack furniture from Ikea - and that fulfils the criteria to having Practical knowledge of the process.

OR - Is Practical knowledge saying that not only do you know how to construct the flat pack furniture - you also can put it together.

Or.. Is the actually being physically able to put the furniture together something that is obtained through the next level of knowing - "Experiential Knowing"

Help appreciated :h:
