If you're smoking any herbs of your choice, and your herbal smoking stick isn't toking very well, gently roll it between your index finger and thumb, check the roach for obstructions, check for uneven burning (if there is, use a tiny bit of saliva to dampen the fast-burning area, and in future, layer anything you're smoking between layers of tobacco).

EDIT: If anyone's wondering, I'm referring to herbs like thyme and sage :ninja:

Alternatively: Potato, apple and onion all taste the same. The perceived differences come from smell, not anything the tastebuds detect (it's true, try a blind test).

This can be said for the vast majority of foods. Taste is a bit of a misleading word as it's only what can be detected by the tastebuds (so limited to 4, or 5 if you include umami). However the human nose can detect around 10,000 different smells, which is why foods taste different. Taste + Smell = Flavour.
