Question post regarding an astronomy degree with a foundation year!

As a person i have always found it difficult to make choices for myself i can easily aid other though, but not myself. At GCSE I chose to take the same subjects by best friend did and at A-level i took the advice of a teacher (maths, physics, ICT and economics). But when it came to a uni degree i wanted to do something i wanted because i regretted in ways the subjects i has took for alevel. And so i went through what did i want to do people were like do buisness or accounts i was like noway and the only thing that i realised i truly did like was maths and so opted for something maths realted. Then i went through a phase of computer science for like a few months even did a personal statement onit 2 weeks before sending off UCAS i changed my mind (typical me ). And was panicking i went to connexions and everything were no help and so i had no degree in mind or carrer i wanted to follow. but i new one thing it would be maths know currently i am retaking AS phsyics after failing miserably from it last year. this made me think why did i take physics? well my answer was well i wanted to learn about space and stars and stuff that really interests me! and so then i asked my physics teacher if he would think that i could do astronomy as a degree with a foundation and he was like yeah if you want! so ive applied for the SEFP course at QMUL (but the thing is i havent chosen it because on UCAS when you apply for the SEFP course you cant choose the degree because its a foundation and so just comes uo with science and engineering 4 year with foundation thats what i chose). well i havent heared anything from them the one uni that i want to really go to and waiting on hasent gotton back to me which sucks!
my question is to any people who are doing astronomy as a degree, and it would be even great if people who actually did a foundation init. what isit like im quite aware it isnt what many people think of a case of just a telescope and gazing at the stars their a lot of physics and maths involoved.
do you think id be able to make it predicted a BDD (ICT, economics, Maths) but want an ACC ( i will defo boost my grade for maths beyond a D as am being tutored after being so lazy last year and failing). im also hoping to get atleast a D from as physics. isit really hard? and what are the job prospects? i mean i want to do the degree because of fascination and interest i dont want it to determine the rest of my life, but that would be with any degree that i would choose. i mean would it be possible for me to do this degree and then go on and do a job not realted to astronomy but use the skills ive gained from like the maths side or physics side?

right well am so sorry to the reader for reading this long post its just i tend to waffle alot and yeh hope that someone can make sense of this and get back to me thanks!!!!

The science foundation year is designed to bring you up to speed - just imagine doing A-level maths, physics, plus extra content within 9 months.

As for the astronomy degree itself, well, if by the end of your foundation year you're still struggling with the physics or maths, then you can decide whether or not you'll be able to cope with university level physics.

And as for jobs, remember that an astronomy degree is mostly physics anyway, so you're going to have loads of maths, physics, and especially technical skills to offer on the job market Good luck!
