Rant
I have a rant to make about UCAS and University Home Fees Questionnaires.
It has to do with Category 7 for students eligible for home fees. My rant is simple: SWISS STUDENTS EXIST!
How hard would it be to add an option "child of a Swiss national" in the UCAS thingy for selecting the category? How hard would it be to add /Switzerland to university forms going: UK/EU/EEA for categories where Switzerland is eligible to be included? HOW HARD? Instead I have to fill out sections CLEARLY not relevent for me because officially they are, such as section three in the Durham form: Applicants currently living outside the UK/EU for any period since 1st September 2004. NO, there HAVEN'T BEEN periods of employment in the UK/E between overseas postings for my father. There IS no expected return date to the UK/EC... NONE OF THE QUESTIONS ARE RELEVENT
And I have to provide exact dates for when I go into France when I live less than a kilometer away from the border? I go there MILLIONS of times And it's not even relevent to my fee status in the first place!
Grrr, sorry for the rant, but it's annoying that no one seems to realise that the category "child of a Swiss national" actually exists, when it's NOT SO HARD to make allowances for it.
