WJEC Double Maths A* Grading
Hello!
I have read the article on the A-star grade on The Student Room, but I am still really confused! First of all, according to the grading section in the 2009 maths specification on the WJEC website, it still says grades A-E will be awarded. Shouldn't it say A*-E?
Anyway, my problem is that I am doing double maths and therefore, I am sitting the Maths A-Level all of this year (Year 12). However, in the Summer, apparently, I am only cashing in the AS-Level of Maths, and cashing in the rest (1 and a half) in Summer 2010. I assume therefore I would be able to get an A* grade in Further Maths, but what about in Maths?
I'm trying to not be that obsessed about it, but would it really matter if the top grade was just an A grade? Would it affect my chances of getting into a good university such as Oxford or Cambridge?
I hope you can help. Thanks .
