Yes it is. It is also internationally recognised as such by all except China. Although if you're going to have one country not recognising you at the moment you wouldn't want it to be China

Only ~23 countries recognize Taiwan, and most of those are either incredibly poor or micro-states. Whether that's sufficient for international standing has no neutral answer.

The Republic of China is the morally legitimate Government of China.

This is not really a recent question. But I'm still going to ask.

According to you, is Taiwan a country?

well it obviously has its own government and laws, but as others have said here few countries in the world officially recognise its sovereignty.

No major country in the world has recognised it since it doesn't want to piss the Chinese off. There is nothing more to it than that.

It's part of China, though it's autonomous. Like Tibet. Neither of them want to be, but they are.

Erm, wut. It's nothing like Tibet. Tibet is actually governed by Beijing; Taiwan has a seperate (democratically elected) Government that has on more than one occasion had military standoffs with the mainland.

So why I’m thinking that it’s a country :s-smilie:
yessss
Taiwan deserves to be recognised.
Reply 14
No, it is a part of China.
Taiwan is a part of China like North Korea is a part of South Korea.

Taiwan deserves to be recognised.

why?
The mainland Government is tyrannical and was established via forcing out the already-existing recognised Government by force of arms and furthermore, the PRC only achieved recognition because it became more physically powerful and because Nixon was a commie lover.

The Kuomintang weren't exactly the best Government either.
Where would you pick to live now, ROC or PRC? ROC any day. ROC is wealthier and free-er.
