Default Oxford Masters Apps: CVs?

I'm currently a final-yr undergrad studying medieval history and I'm planning to apply to Oxford for a Masters in international relations. But what is it that they expect to see on your CV? I haven't exactly done anything academic of note (e.g. published anything) and I suppose if they wanted to know what courses I'm taking currently, the academic transcript should answer their questions there.

I'm rather at a loss as to what to put on there that 1. is relevant and 2. I haven't included elsewhere (personal statement, transcript, etc)...

Can anyone help to clarify this? Thank you!

According to an academic I know with some experience of the Oxford system, this is of more relevance to, say, those with a few years relevant careers experience than to a recent grad or finalists. If you've been in committees etc at university though, it's apparently good for them to see that you've been active in university life. Other than that, I don't think it's a big deal. Hope that's helpful!

The MPhil in International Relations (there are no MSt or MSc courses for IR) requires a CV so I'm not sure what goes on it to be honest, especially if you're still an undergrad.

Dissertation title if it's catchy I suppose?

I also put some work experience that i had during uni (some of it was of relevance to the course, some wasn't). I think it can't hurt, at best the admissions tutor will appreciate being to work alongside studying for a (hopefully) good degree result.

I attached my normal job CV, with all academic results, all previous employment and extracuric/responsibilities etc

If you're applying for IR have you chosen St. Antony's as your college?

I was just wondering, is it necessary to put down your university academic results? After all the admissions tutors would be getting your transcript anyway which contained the individual grades.

I just used my standard CV. And I got in, so it can't be wrong.

Oh thanks for the replies everyone. I decided on a standard CV. After all, my transcripts has all my grades on it.

As for the college, I'm thinking Lincoln as the 1st choice.

Apparently it's great. I had a professor who was raving about it. I am quite upset, however, that Christ Church and All Souls are not available as choices. I really liked Christ Church.

You could try calling the graduate admissions office.

I think I read somewhere that it is definitely not possible to amend the college choice but you might as well try.

Well, you could ask your department's graduate admissions administrator nicely if he/she wouldn't mind amending your choices for you before your dossier gets sent off. I received my college offer via email from my first choice college within 2 days of these changes being made

By the way, the graduate studies office at Oxford isn't exactly a paragon of efficiency so I think the timeliness of my offer had more to do with the time of year that I applied (July) than anything.

Quite frightening what Hobnob says about most grad students not getting into first college of choice. I know that while I should be refining my statement of purpose and written work, I'm spending ridiculous amounts of time comparing the stucco work of various library ceilings or the relative merits of hall menus...

What's so frightening about it? There are fewer places available at graduate level and the colleges which are most frequently named as first or second choice (i.e. old, rich, central and "mixed" colleges) don't tend to be the ones which actually have the most places. So obviously a lot of the people who get offers will end up at a college other than the one they put down as a preference. Most of them end up being perfectly happy with the college they are pooled to, though, so it isn't really anything to fret about.
