Default O-Level Add Maths and A-Level Maths?

Hello,

I've just started a-levels with edexcel, and one of my subjects is mathematics. However, I found that that i am the ONLY one in my math class that did not take additional mathematics at o-level, so that scares me since i'll be the only one who will need things to be explained to me!

I was considering buying an o-levels additional mathematics text/exercise book for my home studying to catch up on what i've missed. Is this recommended? or are the a-level text books sufficient?

Could you tell me what books you used in o-level add maths?

i've never heard of it. and certainly didnt take it, and managed maths and further maths with no problems at all. stop worrying and just concentrate on your a'level maths

EDIT: also because your using o'level and i've never heard of additional maths, i would assume your not 17/18? so would of last done maths quite a while ago. or aren't in the uk

O-levels? Are you in the UK?...

But if you're talking about plain Maths AS and A2 level, you don't really need to know anything more than the GCSE syllabus. And you can always ask in the Maths forum if you get stuck

Sorry if i wasn't clear!

I am 17 actually, and I'm talking about IGCSEs, so no, i'm not in the uk! My friends who did additional mathematics

Here's a link: Additional Mathematics

It lists way too many books for me to know which to buy..

So additional mathematics doesn't exist in the uk?!

Just thought i might add, apparently those who took additional maths at igcse had already learnt some of the topics in C4 :P

ah ok. and well it wasnt offered to me, or my little brother who is a bloody genius.

seriously don't worry about it. a'level maths starts of reasonably easy, you shouldnt have a problem with it. DONT go wasting your time buying books and trying to learn stuff in them, when you should be concentrating on learning your A'level stuff
