I like smooth legs and bits and it saves shaving. The pain doesn't last long does it?
put it this way - if you have alot of hair on your legs, the more it's going to hurt. I personally find getting my olegs waxed a bit painful (some times more than others) it hurts more around the ankle and the back of you leg where the knee bends REALLY hurts.

    It's all worth it though

also, they tell you not to wash your legs for 24 hours - don't ask me why i can't remember the reason. I find that my legs do go numb after they've bee waxed

i'm sure you could if you wanted but it would sting your legs a bit.

I get my arms and legs waxed every 6-8 weeks but I've never had the guts to get my bikini line done though I might do next time.

I let my friend (who was doing a beauty course at college) wax me. She didn't do it properly and I ended up bruised and sore. It has put me off even professional waxing!

the good ones usually put baby powder on the area (wherever that is) before waxing and lotion/oil after...
so if she doesn't start with the baby powder... run (it's not only more painful but if she's using hot wax can burn and bruise your skin...)

I get that if I use those bloody home waxing strip things. I just shave my legs and epilate....other areas

Ahh I really want to get a bikini wax too, but cant afford to get it done regularly so I'm thinking it may just be a waste of money. Does it, er, grow back thicker if u only get it done once?

no, that's the good thing about waxing, unlike shaving it'll never grow thicker cause your pulling the roots out too...

LOL. Some of you girls on here are so upfront. Not a bad thing but I'm not used to it.

As for Sam_b asking why girls go through the pain, I'd say it's worth it from a guy's perspective. Body hair is a male attribute the way I see it (yeah I might be a bit of a macho) so a total turn-off.
Maybe some girls don't want to get rid of all of the hair down there but that's no excuse to grow a jungle down there

I once had my armpits done and that was excruciatingly painful, never again. I only shave there now!

    Ok well i went!

And it wasn't anywhere near as bad as i thought it would be. Some bits were painful, but a minute later the pain was gone. My bikini line hurt more, but none of it was unbearable. Was a really nice woman who did it as well. I'll be going back to get it done again soon!

As a fund-raising idea someone thought it would be a good idea for me to get myself waxed if we can raised £200... though instead of it being just a leg/armpit job the thought it would be funny to say I'd have my back, sac and crack done... WITHOUT CONSULTING ME!! Goddamn, this will hurt.

Right need some advice ladies, me and a mate have decided to get our legs waxed to raise money for a kenya trip we are going on. however to save money and so people can watch (sadistic buggers) we're having it done by a friend...

so what equipment do we need and so forth?

and is it advisable to shorten the hairs on my legs? will it hurt more with longer hairs than normal? (cus i'm a hairy bugger)
