Final Major Project Themes Art Foundation please help!!

Hey guys, I'm hoping that you can help me with my final major project that's starting in just a few weeks....=(

I'm currently doing Foundation Art at College and lately I'm really stuck for inspiration, and I'm so so worried about my final piece, as I have to decide on my brief and STICK TO IT which I find hard doing in briefs as my final pieces so far have turned out to be nothing to do with the brief.

I was thinking maybe the Ten Commandments as I have 8 weeks to do this project on and it seems quite ambitious, and could do quite a lot of work for it.

Also was going to do the Seven Deadly Sins but it seems to be a quite popular theme in art so wanted to do something a little different.

But then I'm worrying that I may run out of ideas on the 6th commandment or something haha!

By the way my speciality is photography, my downfall is drawing =(

Any ideas anyone?

Would be really really grateful of any help at all =)

Just sprung to mind from the 'Ten Commandments' thing, what about 7 Deadly Sins? My friend is doing her graphics project on a perfume brand she has created called 'Saligia' (or something) which is the latin names of each of the sins first letter put together.

My downfall is drawing too (read my other post!) and I'm hoping to do Foundation soon! Where do you study?

In cheshire, it's a good course, gives you a bit of freedom, although my teachers are really rubbish, like lazy, not helpful, and all of them have like part time work outside of teaching such as freelance photography; they're mor interested in that to be honest! But the course is good, I've learnt a bit since being there, although I'm 19 so I can't wait to get to uni.

Yeah I'm hoping to get in/ I've applied to a college university but also to two 'official' universities too. Had any more inspiration? I'm trying to prepare my portfolio at this very moment!

I want to do the foundation so I can work out what I want to do! I like graphics nest probably. I'm currently deciding whether or not I have time to make a dress I have designed so I can throw it in my portfolio.... hmmm.

I just started a sorta mini project (I'm trying to cram in as much stuff in my portfolio as possible, so I'm doing lots of little things). I just came up with the idea of landmarks and I'm using a picture of the Statue of Liberty, which I've got a shape and colour scheme from that I'm trying to visualise into something....

Good luck with your project, whatever you decide to do!

Oh that's cool, like the sounds that =)

Well I'm doing an article spread and ad campaigns for underage drinking, a bit like the Think! ads.

We got a new brief today, to write an essay on artists that inspire us the most and we have to illustrate it...I might do David LaChappelle, he's a really wacky fashion photographer but I adore his pictures. =)

Hi Kdog

we just started our FMP this week  Have your tutors told you to keep a Diary for the project? If you are out of ideas and still thinknig of it you should probabl write a little comment on ideas every day as well. It really helps when your brain storming. When you put them together I think you can find something interesting

Goodluck

I'm starting to write my Statement of Intent now. However, I have no idea what I'm going to do for my final major project :frown:
Can someone email me with ideas? PLEASSEE
[email protected]
I need a distinction :frown:
I was thinking abstract landscapes. I wanted to do something with the sea. Like someone contemplating, looking at the sea. but the shot is looking at the back of the person.
But what theme? and If I can't get to the seaside I can use the river... but what can I call it?
I'm so confused =[
Heeellp me :frown:
Thankss

hi guys i havent yet began my foundation course but im here cos i thought you would be the perfect candidates to help me build up my portfolio for my interview ive already impressed the course tutor with some of my work now i need to take it to a higher level and as students i thought you would be the best people to help me pleease.x
im also having massive trouble thinking of a FMP theme, i done addiction for pathway and wanted to carry it down towards mental illness for FMP but im burnt out of ideas, AND we need first hand objects to draw A1 studies from and that alone has butchered my idea. I'll tell you what some of my friends are doing though, I obviously cant because I'm not one for copying, but theyre doing time eras (60's pop art etc), family (both positve and negative), gluttony, shoes, 'all about me',graffiti, one guy's doing addiction (he done it in reverse e started with mental illness, but again I'm too afraid to do similar work), and then the rest are textile specialists who are making garments. Hope that helps somebody atelast.
hello! Ive just finished my foundation course and i got a distinction so i thought id share my idea, as I'm interested in graphic design i decided to approach it with a branding task, therefore i took the idea of redesigning an alcoholic beverage brand? but was unsure which to chose, therefore i then went to discover a recent trip the duchess of Cambridge took alongside prince William to help raise awareness of endangered animals, this is a concept i was highly strung upon as the welfare of animals is a huge priority to me. As I was raising awareness I felt that introducing colour was a necessity (colour being pleasing to the eye etc../ drawing people in) taking this on board i decided upon redesigning Gin due to the fact that 'gin' is typically an older age drink and isn't necessarily targeted towards to younger audience (18+) therefore thats what i did. Introducing an indian cultural theme to tie in the colour and also the animals (i decided to use elephants)
