Default Depression

Recently i've been feeeling really depressed about everything.
Rarely a day goes by where i'm not crying at something.
The thing is i cannot work out for the life of me why i am so upset and depressed.
I have friends, a loving, caring family and am pretty much care free.
The only reasons i can attribute it to is not liking my course at uni/being rejected by a guy who i thought loved me back.
However, the old me wouldn have been able to get over these such minor life events.
I just don't know what's up with me // what to do?

See your GP, they will know the best thing for you to do. They may refer you on to someone that can help you, its not nice to be feeling how you are so seeing someone asap about it is the most important thing.

Is there any chance you could make an appointment to see the councelling survice at your uni about it aswell, they may be able to help you with the problems you have with uni.

Hope it gets better for you.

I'd say not liking your course at uni would be quite a big thing tbh. I know that if I didn't enjoy something then I wouldn't be motivated and would probably feel pretty crap. Also, having a guy not like you back can also be upsetting, so you do have reasons. Whether you think you have reason to be depressed or not it's best to see your GP. Your Uni should have a counselling service too so find out about that. It might be quicker seeing a counsellor at Uni than it would be being refered to one by your GP. You don't need reasons to feel depressed - it's not something you can necessarily help so see your GP soon as

What do i say? I did mention it last time I went with something else and he just asked me if i'd felt suicidal and since i hadn't, kind of sent me on my way.

I feel kind of bad going to see a counsellor aswell because my dad's one and i hear all the awful stories he hears from his clients and they've been through way more than me. I'd feel really selfish.

Don't feel selfish, you have as much right to go to them as anyone else.

While it's not much, I recommend trying to get some/more exercise in your daily life. It helps me.

If you want to, feel free to PM me for a chat, I'll be more than willing to listen and try to help.

If you were to see you GP especially for it they couldnt send you away without listening to you. Its worth a try anyway.

Well the service provided by the uni is there for you to use, im sure they see people alot of the time with the same problem,

In respect to our dad, im sure he dosent tell you about the day to day people that wouldnt make for good conversation , im sure its just the extreme cases he gets, you would be surprised im sure he see's alot of people who dont have massive problems.

your uni should also have a councilling service, try and get an appointment with them, forget what your dad says, anyway he shouldn't be discussing his clients with non professionals anyway, it breaks confidentiality laws
Also go see another gp, they'll probably refer you to another councilling service, you may also find out that what you're experiencing isn't depression but more like stress or anxiety (a lot of people wrongly claim depression).
hopefully when you get the chance to talk to someone without interuptions you may be able to sort out whats making you upset all the time.
