Default Biochemistry?

Just wanted to ask you folks, who seem to know a good bit about degree prospects.

Is Biochemistry a "respected" science degree? Does it open as many doors outside and inside the science field as a degree like Physics or Maths? Can it lead to a good career?

Thanks,
Ronnie

hey,

i was wondering the same thing too - whether its a respected degree
because i reeally really want to do biochem but all i keep hearing is that its for the people who arent good enough to get into medicine/dentistry
and when i tell people im doing biochem - they ALWAYS ask me if i want to do medicine afterwards..

but i reckon if you want to work in something like a pharmaceutical company after doing your degree or postgrad - then i think, and have been told, that biochem is the best degree to do
