Re: Accommodationthe superior rooms were referbed last year, and as such are very nice,
you kitchens are big with lots of extra stuff in them,
and they are new.. which means they generally have about 2-3 more years before problems will accurr... get in quick :P -

I was looking at the online brochure and noticed that County have superior standard rooms instead of standard, and it is the only college that offers this...but what exactly are the superior rooms like?
Plus anyone doing geography? or going to do geography?
yeah, i think County Main is superior standard - they were new this year and they have sofas in the kitchens, as already said. -

I think the superior kitchens have sofas... I can see the county main people sat on their sofas from my window *is jealous and wants a sofa*. -

Looked at this web page - http://www.lancs.ac.uk/accommodation/news.html and it says you can apply from er...today, but I can't find how! It says something about an email being sent so you can create an account? I haven't got one. Don't know what to do please help!

You could try contacting them by phone http://www.lancs.ac.uk/accommodation/contact.html, there are contact numbers in this site, that might work. -

Re: AccommodationIIRC the email about continuing students getting acomodation went out about 3 days late, broke the servers that CRO were using [they bought something cheap], which delayed everything by about another 3 days whilst a new better srver was set up for them by people that know about such things, then everything went live and it worked...
the admin side of the CRO has abit to be desired..
the colledge CRO's are usually really nice... but the syestem is so broken! [takes a few days for things to happen...] -

Well I have my ucas account obviously...but I haven't got an email from Lancaster Uni saying something about setting up an account through them, which I would then use to apply for accommodation with (when they finally get their act together!), which is what I thought happened according to the website? No idea, I'm so confused! -

Re: AccommodationFor anyone struggling to decide on colleges, some pretty basic but useful things to help:
Ensuite - Offered in all 8 undergraduate colleges.
Standard - Offered in 5 of the undergraduate colleges with varying degrees of quality/newness. Furness and Pendle [similar in quality], County [superior = higher price], Grizedale, and Bowland [oldest = cheapest].
Town houses - Offered in Grizedale and County only
Hence, if you definitely want a townhouse, you could use both options for County and Grizedale or if you definitely wanted ensuite, you could increase your chances by applying for Fylde, Cartmel or Lonsdale.

Re: Accommodationhmm, neither me or my bf have got one. Im sure it cant be hard to send emails out at the same time? I should stop being so impatient! Its just im rather excited !!
Guess im going to have to get used to this kind of thing! Ah well hope it doesnt make my chances any smaller! I cant affor anything more than bowland !
