At Cambridge, are you only paying for the 3 terms of 8 weeks[ish]? In which case, the rent should be lower.
    No.

Hey I found this on the website it's the prices for 2012-2013 for accomodation
    http://www.lancs.ac.uk/sbs/accommoda...eets/ugsummary

Also i had a question what's the bowland basic standard like because that's £14 a week cheaper than the next one up which could make living much easier

Vaguely remember some standard with washbasin accommodation in little corridors of 8, four male and four female rooms. Not sure which college it was in though, anybody know? Might have been Grizedale but I'm not sure

Pendle Ghetto accommodation is like that, though Grizedale may have similar accommodation as well.

    Ah ok thanks

Does anyone know what the Basic Standard rooms are like in Bowland? As far as I can see they're the only catered standard rooms. I know they're older and hence cheaper, but are they much worse than elsewhere?

    Hi everyone!
I am an international graduate student coming to Lancaster at the end of September for MA English Literary Studies.
As far as I learnt on campus accomodation is much more expensive than living in the city in a shared house. However, I thought it would be better to live on campus for a year to learn the city and meet some people. What do you think about it? Pros and cons? ( It probably has been asked before but I just couldn't find. There are so much posts!)
Also, I am a sponsored student and need to be careful about the money. How much money do I spend monthly if I stay oncampus or offcampus? Average at least?
Lastly, would you suggest townhouses or ensuites? (There are not much difference in terms of rents I think) And do you think I can trust the offcampus room/flat ads online? (I probably seemed like a paranoid )
I am doing MA Gender, Women Studies and English I will see you I guess

    Re: Accommodation
You apply on line in late May or early June (assuming Lancs is your firm).
They send you an email with all the info, which you return stating your first and second choice of accommodation and college.
When you get your results and your place is confirmed, then you hear where you have been put.
And for basic ensuite, I would say County is probably as good as anywhere.
