isnt sweden supposed to be a democracy- i.e. everybody is supposed 2 hav rites and are free to practic wot thy want as long as it is not out of the 'box' wot is it 2 u if thy want to create a school teaching islamc values- i mean no 1 will b forcd 2 go 2 tht school thy will do it out of free will

There's nothing wrong about a school, we have islamic schools here too. What is wrong is expecting us to adopt sharia law which is what i heard they were trying to do a few months ago. That is demanding and that is a hell of a lot more demanding than any other religion i've heard off.

I agree. When a child is born, there are lots of things the child needs to learn. If you dont teach them, face it, your not a very good parent are you? How else will the child know whats good and whats not? lol

If you can teach your kid every other thing, ie the way you live your life, how s/he should eat, sit, drink etc, why wouldnt you teach them about your religion? Because if you dont, when the child is old he wont know anything about it, then hes not going to listen to you... So you would tell him/her before its too late. And then later on in life you would obveously once you have done your part, you'd let the kid decide on what s/he wants to do. I mean if I wasn't taught about this from an early age, I really can't see me converting now. But I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to become a muslim and now that I'm old enough to decide for myself I choose to remain as a muslim, when most of my friends dont even believe in God!

u obviously dont use msn or sms
This is funny.. muslims can't probably fart without a news reporter turning up or something and asking for a f*ckin explanation anymore.

Also, i dont know about sweden, but this is the case in the UK .. 99.9% of the time... when you see those headlines in the Times, Telegraph etc. all exagurated, about muslims demnading this that and the other.. = complete nonsense. Majority of the time, it is PC-LIBERAL.. APPOLOGETIC FOR THE EMPIRE type "DONT WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE" SOCIALIST ATHIEST LOONIES (im not talking about everyone that is slightly left or anything, this is a whole seperate group of people).. who use the muslim community as a scapegoat for their own ends.

YES .. when councils get rid of christmas lights and replace them with "seasons greetings" .. no muslim has ever asked for that, i've never heard of such riddiculous **** .. no muslim is offended by christmas lights.. and if they are they certainly dont represent any siginifcant (never mind majority) voice of the community and its really stupid if their changing it cos of 1 or 2 idiots. Most muslims celebrate christmas in their own way.. they might not have a tree and give presents.. but they see it as an occaision to spend time with the family as almost everyone has a day off. This is just one example.. next time you read about these sort of things, try to read between the lines and see who is actually wanting the change.

Slowly but surely, this country is becoming less christian in its values and envionment.. and its certainly not becoming Islamic. Its becoming more and more athiest. People dont think for themselves anymore, they are mentally challenged it seems. They believe whatever they see/hear on tv/radio/internet.. as long as its sky/bbc/cnn or other 'credible' sources.

What a joke...

Anyway, enough of this rant..

Because religion is a serious thing its not a joke or an ancient myth. And for me and any other muslim, Islam is the true religion and it commands us to spread the word, the truth. If your not interested thats fine. But the truth is Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, including american and europe. So its not just me mate

Just because you Muslims generally breed like rabbits, doesn't make it the 'true' religion. "Truth isn't subject to majority opinion."

And seriously, don't you belong in Iran or something? WE'RE NOT ******* INTERESTED IN YOUR BS HERE!

A muslim myself it angers me that some people do such things. If you're in another country and you're doing a job we have to follow the rules. The quran tells muslims to follow rules and then some extremists make things horribly complicated.

Particularly with the medical profession what are they expecting? If they're going into medicine surely they know they'll have to touch men maybe possibly have a look at the genitals as it is part of the job. It really frustrates me.

no wonder the divorc rates r so high in sweden lol my view on this is that divorc shudnt b as easy as filling in one or two forms cupls need 2 learn to reconcile is that the whole point of marriage??

I think what you have described may represent a reduction of liberalism - something which OP (although i do not know him and am basing this on other views he has expressed), any many other for that mattter, may be opposed to. People's perception of what marriage is has also changed in recent times so others may not share your view that it is "the whole point of marriage".

There are Islamic schools too.

The Beth Din requires both parties to consent to be dealt with by their court - so any Jew could refuse to stand trial in that court, and I believe it only deals with civil cases. I think the main reason Muslims don't yet have such a system is because their Council (equivalent of the Church of England I think) doesn't want one.

Your point about media sensationalising things I agree with.

Well there you go. I am not entirely sure but I think islamic courts have been passed or are to be passed with basically the same rules as the jewish courts.

It'sw pretty simple. If you want to live in Britian, or Sweden, or any other western country, you follow the laws set by the government. None of this Sharia business should even be considered.

haha FAIL.

They use the same laws set by the government to try to implement the changes.

Freedom of expression and pressure groups and the like allow muslims, as well as any interest groups for example, to try to get their views considered and implemented into the law.

It is called LIBERAL DEMOCRACY with a REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT for a reason.

Why do people have such lack of thought?

I'm relieved that most Muslims do the sensible thing. However, the Islamic Medical Association did say:
"Covering all the body in public, except the face and hands, is a basic tenet of Islam. No practising Muslim woman - doctor, medical student, nurse or patient - should be forced to bare her arms below the elbow."

which suggests to me that it's more than just a couple of nutters. Anyhow, no other culture in the world would have the chutzpah to challenge antiseptic technique and risk people's lives because of a trivial religious technicality.

I just remembered something. One of my muslim classmates refuses to do echocardiography on women. ( patients have to be topless)

I see muslims demanding a lot of things that other people don't. The latest is a member of TSR demanding the word paki to be banned in the forum. An other one is a religious leader that has demanded shia laws for divorcing muslim women in sweden. They've also demanded to have their own religious schools in sweden. Obviously all these things are much easier in their own home country, why do they come to europe if they want to live by their religious lifestyle?

I'm middle eastern.

well for one, they dont demand anything, they go through legal procedurres, fund such schools themselves, and its only because governments are so overly suspicious that they feel the need to have some sort of input,
personally i think the success of mulims makes others hate
Rainbow_1985
Well we get to my other question. What makes you think you are a prophet? And I'd like to mention that the reason islam is growing in europe and america is because a lot of muslims are moving to these continents and giving birth to children. I'd like to see numbers of converting european and americans.

What and christian families have stopped giving births? lol

And show me where I said I was a prophet? This really shows how much research you've done on this topic so far. Right, muslims follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the people who preach about the religion are called scholars. Im not a scholor or a prophet, infact Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) was the last and final prophet. Before him came, Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus (Peace be upon them all) and many more.

I'd like you to read a little bit more about this, it isn't as bad as you think it is. And i'll hapily answer any other questions you may have.

I have no doubt that a majority of Muslims are sensible about such matters. I am immensely relieved about this. Unfortunately a few ruin it for the rest of you, so to speak.

First of all, this is a public forum so he has every right to post as much as you do. So don't go around telling people what to post and what not. Second of all you're the one who was talking absolute crap. Muslims breed like rabbits, no seriously wtf? Obviously you're the one who is coming up with the BS here.
