To be so narrow minded that you scornfully expess yourself like that when trance is mentioned is laughable. You probably don't know the first thing about 'trance' or clubbing. If you had more of an open mind you'd appreciate that trance does not just meen bopping around with glow stick. Tiesto, the don of trance/tech trance - could go into detail here but wont (Don't want to hurt you're narrow minded brain now) is a national icon in Holland. It's more than just the music. Trance is just one element of clubbing. Im sure you'd like some variety of dance. Ever tried breaks or D&B? There's something you'd enjoy. Clubbers are the most open minded of people so for this i won't have a go at you for not understang. You'be obviously never been to a ledgendery trance night a lá Crasher/Godskitchen/Passion. Maybe you should come down to Crasher at Nottingham Ice Arena this Sunday. I could guarentte you'd be impressed. It's like nothing else. Trance addict will appreciate this im sure. Definetly a good move to have 2 arena Crasher's than one huge NEC event. Until sunday... -
i agree 110%, trance is the best. Dj Tiesto - Sandstrom (best songs) adn Logical Songs and Blood Rave by crystal method in my top three(Original post by jonny900)

All just as bad
If u want to come to sheffield my advice would be to stay away from any of the halls especially stevenson! Some of the other halls my be of some appeal to you but dont be fooled, there all miles away from anything decent (endcliffe is a good 20 mins walk from the uni and further to any of the city centre or west street bars/shops/clubs. Also dont think theres anything in Endcliffe no bars or even shops for at least 5 mins walk (up a massive hill). As for the halls that are not in Endcliffe, Tapton is full of very uninteresting people quite often wearing Tapton 2005 hoodies, Ranmoor, although i do know some pretty cool ppl from there is populated by some of the lowest form of humaninity u r ever likely to meet (those sporting the 'Ranmoor till I die' hoodies something any1 going to sheffield will quickly learn to despise). Basicly don't go to halls, the foods rubbish, the people r all either geeks or typical bleached hair rich boys who love going to all the university functions and chant the name of there hall in clubs. They are often spotted staggering along the long road to Endcliffe at about 2Am and reminising how good it was to drink 8 WKDs whilst listening to chesney hawkes at Kingdom or maybe going to 'Poptarts' at the union.
If you have any sort of personnality i would reccomend self catered flats or university owned housing they tend to be a bit closer to home and contain people who want a bit more from university than a hoddy with there hall written on it. Both self catered flats and housing are great for listening to music, having parties and genneral riotous behavious and really give u the sense of independance that can't be found in the kids holiday club atmosphere of the halls.
Come to sheffield though its amazing, the club scene may be dying out a bit but the party scenes kicking of big time!!!!! -
dont go to halls u will regret it!!

SORBY/EARNSHAW jcr won most of the jcr awards this yr 4 the best ents so be warned!!!
finally...theres absolutely NOTHING wrng with kingdom, juice or poptarts!!! a bit of cheesy music never hurt anyone!! evn the indie-loving boys on my corridor adapted to kingdom by the end of the yr!!
dnt be so damned narrow-minded!!! -
I really don't know - I have sent my certificates about a month ago, allready recieved and sent the UCAS Reply slip, but no accommodation info yet. The only post from Sheff is the "Welcome to Sheffield" booklet. Though expecting it soon...(Original post by _m_a_y_a_)
Sent off my final grade certificate to the Law department today, so guess I'll be seeing you all in September
Does anybody know if they'll wait until August to give out accommodation or if they start processing you application as soon as it's confirmed that you've met your offer?
