MSc in Internet Systems and eBusiness @ Durham

i've applied to about 3 unis for postgrad studies MSc conversion courses in a Computing/IT discipline & am awaiting replies on the unis' decisions. in the meantime i thought i'd try looking at a couple more unis to apply to & happened to see Durham's MSc in Internet Systems and eBusiness. after looking through the module details, sample dissertations, etc. i feel that it's quite an interesting course & since my interests lean more towards internet technologies, this course seems right for me.

but i'd like to know if it's a good/decent course, how competitive is the course & Computing dept to get into, etc. i have to admit that i don't know much about Durham being an overseas applicant/student.

plus would it be better to go with a more general MSc in CompSci/IT/InfoSys (that's the other courses i'm applying to @ Bristol/York/Surrey respectively & assuming i get offers from the unis)? i'm also thinking in terms of employability after graduating & whether potential employers might see the MSc in Internet Systems and eBusiness as being to specialised.

any comments/feedback/advise is much appreciated.

thanks!
hi there,
i am also an international student. have got unconditional offer for msc internet technologies and distributed systems at durham. i am also facing the same dilemma here. i dont know about it. another thing i have to think carefully is; i have to relocate if i want to study there. i doubt that there wont be so many foreign students there.
so i think that, i would try other uni u have listed.

it depends what you're hoping to do afterwards and what you're hoping to get from it? it's a good institution and im sure the course is a good fit for certain careers.
for me, i am not hoping anything special actually, what does really matters to me is modules contents of the course. another thing is; i have to relocate (i am currently in london), and there will be extra costs for settlement to move there. also, i am just hoping that my postgraduate degree will help me get a job in such a gloomy economic situation.

yeah...that's what a lot/most are hoping a postgrad degree will help out when it comes time to look for a job. especially for someone like me who's kinda changing career paths.

for the record, in the end i did not apply for this course. i've since been offered & accepted the MSc in Computer Science at Bristol instead (it was ultimately between Bristol/York/Kent/Surrey).
