The saga of IB English

It all began as my classmates and I were eagerly awaiting noon on what
was to be the last period of a half day (meaning only 45 minute
periods), the glorious day that began our 2 weeks to revel in sleep
dedicated to a man who died 2000 years ago. That's right, Christmas
break was about to begin. My classmates and I walked into our English
class, followed by ourinstructor carrying a large box and folder. "What
is this?" we question. Perhaps a Christmas treat? But no, wait-Mr.
Collins is reaching for the folder. He passes out the sheet and-
NOOOOOO! A project. Just as our freedom was to be ascertained, "Notes of
a Native Son" (yes, it should be underlined, but this message board
doesn't allow for it) by James Baldwin is hurled at our heads
(literally). What a glorious ruin to what had promised to be a relaxing
vacation. -Kelley "Concious doth make cowards of us all; / And thus the
native hue of resolution / Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of
thought" -Hamlet (III i 83-85)

At least you didnt have research for your Extended Essay topics thrown
at your head. That would really hurt.

BTW: You probably should be starting that essay by now.

Don't even go there you guys. I have a whole LIST of stuff to do:

- Write entire 3000wd History IA paper (that I've barely begun
researching), due Jan 7
- Write at least first few paragraphs of extended essay (also that I've
barely begun researching), due Jan 3
- Work on my art sketchbook/journal, come up with my next
project, due Jan 3
- Do my entire TOK final project, due Jan 7
- Gather all the data for my math project, due Jan 3

This isn't even stuff I've put off till now because I've been lazy. This
is stuff that I just haven't had time to work on, and now it's due all
at once. And I'm in the best situation out of all my classmates (except
for the ones who tested out of math last year and don't have a project
to do now) because most of them haven't started anything yet! At least
all you hae to do is read a book and write a dinky paper!! :P
