Default A Level Further Maths combination...?

Without going into too much detail, I'm having to self-teach myself A level Further Maths (with the occasional aid of a tutor, of course). Is the following a possible combination for A Level Further Maths?
FP1,FP2,S2,S3,S4,D1

...or does D1 need to be replaced with FP3?

thats pretty much what my college offers, however they do either D2 or M1 instead of one of the stats options as far as i am aware

Edit: couldn't you use the further maths network instead of self-teaching yourself all of it?

That is possible (on Edexcel).

Which exam board are you on, and which modules have you already done?

FP3 normally isn't necessary (and you could do FP3 instead of FP2 if you wanted, as long as you have at least one of them).

FP1, D1 and S2 are fine, so your AS is sorted. As for FP2, S3 and S4, more work will be required, but with just that (i.e. work) they should also be fine! Look at the spec for FP2 and FP3 so that you can decide which one to do, though. I consider FP3 on OCR to be easier than FP2, for example.

I'm doing Edexcel and have now already taken c1-4,S1, M1. Just starting Further Maths from scratch now, since it was such a late decision. I don't want to make it too hard since I don't have the benefit of proper teaching. So,
FP1,D1,S2,FP2,S3,D2 ?
Also, how do you make use of the Further Maths Network? I've never even considered Further Maths before until recently, so have very little knowledge on the issue. Do they provide lessons?

http://www.fmnetwork.org.uk/tuition.php In reference to the earlier mention of the FM network.

With regards to module choice that seems fine (although i personally would hate all of that statistics ). I would only swap D1 for FP3 if you intend to go into a mathematical discipline (where it would be of more use) or if you prefer the look of it to D1.

The further maths network does provide lessons (you do have to pay, unless your school cannot provide the lessons and then sometimes it can be covered)

however email the nearest branch they are usually really helpful and will try the hardest to support your work
you will probably read most of that and more on their website though, but its definitely worth a look!

On AQA you have to do FP1 and FP2 and 4 others (depending on what you did for a-level maths) from FP3, FP3, S1 - 4, M1-5, D1-2

Yes (as in you can do FP1 D1 M1), FP2 requires C3 and C4 knowledge and the way it's set up is so people can do AS FM alongside AS Maths.

Since you're going up to S4, wouldn't it be smarter, for your own sake, to go for FP3 instead of D1? S4 requires very good brains, which FP3 does as well? It is just so much more useful for future uses, depending on your exam board, of course. I've covered all of them, and apart from S4, it was a breeze. I decided to do the hardest ones just because I love maths, but if you are looking at just getting an A Level, then FP1, FP2, FP3, S2, D1, D2 or S3 might be an easier combination.

Yeah mechanics is the best out of them (IMO). Does anybody know if the spec has changed this year for the mechanics modules for edexcel?

Doing FP3 will be extremaly good
Especially if you want to take economics at university (which i assumed you do want to, or at least economics and economic history?)

D1is possibly the easiest FM module i think and so i would say do what is good for you. You say you are self teaching so instead of oing into S3 and S4 you may wnt to look at M1 and D1. as these will be easier, but if you think you can hack it then as others have said i would look into doing what will help you most at uni
