Default Work Experience Ideas (applying for PGCE 2010)...Need help!

Hey guys, I started tlaking about this on one of my older threads, but thought it would make sense posting a new one as it was a bit off-topic. (apologies if anyone thinks this is in the wrong forum)

My work experience (as far as the PGCE is concerned):

I helped in a school every week for a year, but that was when I was in year 12/13 - so not really very recent. I'm finding it difficult also to gain enough work experience (especially in a school) because I'm on a lecture-heavy course. I'm volunteering to tutor children within local schools here, so hopefully my application will be successful. Other than that...I'm not sure where else I could help out. All of the after school clubs are over by the time I finish lectures (at around 6/7pm) and weekends aren't really an option because I travel home and work most weekends. I'm also working with a disabled 1st year student at my University - but I'm not sure if that will count at all.

If anyone has any other ideas I'd be really grateful? I want to get as much work experience as possible before I apply

Have you look on www.do-it.org.uk ? You can search for work experience opportunities involving education/children, and you can specify the times that you are free for it in your search.
