Before someone moves this thread it is related to cambridge! Anyway, after the emergence of the thread about being terrified of not meeting offers and the various responses saying just be thankful to have an offer, get on with revising etc i thought a thread like this might be helpful. I was wondering if offer holders would like to talk about the progress of their revision at various times and maybe, as a result people might gain motivation (if not at least feel suitably guilty for not) revising. It might be helpful for A level revision but also for things more specific to cambridge like step preparation or AEA things. Anyway, let me know what you think of the idea :-) :-D

Well. I should be doing German revision, as my offer is three As.
Instead I'm on The Student Room.
Problematic, I feel.
Lol. I'm quite pleased with myself today, i've done some economics revision and worked on my pre release in english. It's the most work i've done all year...it won't last :-S
Or how about making it a general offer holder's chat thread? We normally have one of those and you'll end up talking about revision etc anyway. What do you think?

those massive threads suck ass cause they arent specific enough. it sucks trawling through all the pages.
subforums are the best.
I think it's quite nice to have quirky little threads that hopefully get people talking about a different topic but i suppose some people prefer one big one. We should take a poll...
The reason we have them is because we had (literally) hundreds of pretty much identical threads with one minor insignificant point different. If it warrants a new thread it won't be merged unnecessarily! Similarly, people in this forum are pretty good at replying to stickies, so you can post whatever in there and get a response.
Hi everyone :-) just wondering if any of you've started revision yet-i intend to start next week. Currently i have a 4000 word essay on jane eyre to do which doesn't even count towards my offer so it seems a bit pointless. I'm most worried about my maths-i have a B in it at A level but i obviously need an A. My module results went C1 77, C2 76, C3 83, C4 52, S1 93, M1 76. I resat C4 in jan but due to personal problems i doubt i've done much better so i'm trying to decide which modules i can succesfully teach myself to get the grade. In english i'm doing measure for measure and the ancient mariner for a module in the summer-don't know if i'll be doing the Synoptic unit too as i sat it in january.
Just realised my jane eyre comment seems a bit unmotivational-i do like jane eyre, i'd just rather study it without all the paperwork included in the extended essay qualification i'm doing!!

definitely resit C1 - after having done all the other core modules you'll find (or at least I definitely found) C1 relatively easy to score very highly when resitting. C2 shouldn't be too bad either now. You need 23 more UMS for an A so I'd recommend resitting C1, C4 and possibly C2 as well. I wouldn't advise M1, especially if you haven't done it in a while. With core modules then a lot of it is progressive i.e. you're doing the same things (differentiation, integration, trig etc.) but in more depth. It's possible to get the 23 UMS you need from C1 alone, there's a lot of UMS to pick up in C4 (assuming you didn't do too well in your resit) and you could also do C2 just to be safe in case one of your exams goes badly.

I think that's what i'll do. I had so many problems last year my results just went down so hopefully if i work i should be able to do it!
All you people talking about revising, you mean you're actually already revising for summer exams?
Yes, but only because i have so much maths to do and i'm not having lessons in college on it. Plus we started unit 6 economics back in september so i already have loads to go over :-)

that wouldnt change things for me, I can't believe you're even thinking about revising for summer exams yet! wow
