Mango and Lime or Medium. The flavour of hot/extra hot is also really nice but too spicy for me...

Get the medium instead - it's really not that bad. The extra hot one is ridiculous.
There isn't actually an extra hot sauce as such, they just double coat it in hot and cook it for longer

I may do that... i'll buy the medium to take home and try out. I wouldn't want to waste my nando's meal with medium peri peri if I didn't like it

The bottles of sauces that you can buy don't taste the same as the sauces they put on the chicken

Yeah of course, but the price is higher than say, buying a burger in a pub, and you would never be expected to get your own cutlery and sauces there. The price should reflect the service, really.
Hmm? Isn't it, like, £5.50 for a quarter chicken and two sides? And probably about a tenner for a burger and chips in a pub.

Anyway, the price shouldn't reflect the service - people go to Nando's knowing what to expect! It's not meant to be classy, it's meant to be a bit tacky - they have notes on the menu telling you not to worry about making a mess if you eat with your hands, jokes on posters on the walls, bottles of sauce lying around, they have free refills, and frankly if you got the cutlery brought over to you I'd see it as a bit of an inconsistency. They pride themselves on being informal. Nothing wrong with that.

    What?!?! What's all this blasphemy.

Extra Hot Chicken Extra Hot Peri Peri Sauce covering EVERY millimetre of the chicken.

That's the only way to eat a Nandos.

The little bottles of sauce are like, table sauces I guess whereas the sauce they put on the chicken is a more concentrated version like a baste, they do taste slightly different.

Madness!! I'll still give the medium a shot, but won't expect it to taste the same in the restaurant!

Next time you go in just ask them to let you try the medium sauce, they'll pour some of the medium cooking baste into a little pot for you to taste and decide if it's too hot before you agree to have it on your chicken. Simple! I do it for people all of the time

I've even tried a "fao" before and it's apparently hotter than a vindaloo (no idea how you actually spell it... had it in a restaurant where the vindaloo wasn't hot and my friend and I decided to ask for something hotter and they came out with this. Now THAT was painful.. but we finished it )

You seemed cool up until 5 minutes ago. :p: :shifty:

Seriously though... I've had competitions with friends in Nandos. Me and another friend used up a quarter of Extra Hot sauce once. :o: literally needed like 6 or so refills.
