Re: Nando's
I really should know the right answer considering I get asked quite a lot... but from the Nando's website;
"Our chicken is supplied to us fresh, never frozen from Faccenda the 2nd largest supplier in the UK and our Halal chicken from Freemans of Newent. Nando’s chickens are housed in sawdust-bedded, well-ventilated barns and they have constant access to food and water. They are fed non-GM feed and are free from antibiotic growth promoters. We can assure you of this because our producers adhere to strict standards laid out by the ACP (Assured Chicken Production) and are also regularly audited by our own Welfare team." -

Re: Nando's£10 for a burger and chips lol? Where do you live? I've paid less than that in London before. Even the mentally big and extremely nice burger in Revolution is less than £9, and it comes with salad and onion rings too. You can get a three course meal at lunch for £5 at an Italian restaurant I go to sometimes. And it's very good. Plus once you've added a beer and maybe a dessert to your meal, it's no longer around the fiver mark.(Original post by generalebriety)
Hmm? Isn't it, like, £5.50 for a quarter chicken and two sides? And probably about a tenner for a burger and chips in a pub.
Still, I see your point that it's not the most expensive place to eat, but I'd argue that having to get your own cutlery etc is actually what's out of place. It's more like what you expect in KFC than a restaurant, whilst everything else about Nandos is more like a restaurant than a fast food joint. I'm not saying it should be full waiter service - there's nothing wrong with going to the desk to order, but it's just little things that could be done better.
Minor complaints, though, and it's still one of my favourite places to eat. -
Re: Nando'sBut bear in mind that dipping your finger in the sauce will make the taste hotter than when it's with chicken(Original post by Sheep88)
Really?? That i'll do!! Thanks for the tip

I love Nandos. A fiver for a quarter chicken, garlic bread and chips? I'd certainly not complain. And unlimited refillable drinks and frozen yoghurt? Ace. -

I swear last time I went to the Eagle (proper old people's pub in Cambridge) it cost me just over a tenner for a burger, chips and a drink, so I assume just under a tenner minus the drink. Sure, there are cheap places to eat, but nor are they particularly classy - I don't know about this Italian restaurant you're talking about, but they almost certainly give you the cutlery in pubs to stop people stealing it / spitting in it / throwing up in it, and because cutlery isn't something they need quite as much of as places like Nando's.
Meh. More relevant things: do you really think everything else about Nando's is more like a restaurant? I'm quite interested now. After all, they have bottles of sauce, free refills, jokey posters / napkins / menus... they even have paper bags so that you can take your food out, in true KFC / McDonald's style! I'd bet that the only reason they served your food to you was because it took them longer to cook than KFC food, so people would get bored standing there waiting and massive queues would form.
