Quick question - Rest Mass

I've completely forgotten how to convert the rest mass of a particle into kg.

For example:

A particle of rest mass 1.4eVc2\frac{1.4 eV}{c^2}
how do i convert this into Kg.

Thanks :o:
I assume you're using E = mc^2 here. E needs to be in joules to give mass in kg, so you mutliply the energy in eV (this case 1.4eV) by 1.6 x 10^-19 (the charge of an electron) to give you the energy in joules. This can then be used to find the mass in kg.

So yeah, in that case, you're multiplying (1.4eV/c^2) by 1.6 x 10^-19.
