    Competitions!
    Hello people of P & DI ^.^

I have noticed an increase in the number of competition threads here, and so i thought it might be an idea, spawned from talking to a friend, to have weekly/fortnightly/monthly competitions of both photography and photoshopping, where people post up their entry and then vote for a winning one once the timeframe is up. The poll results will be public, to discourage people from voting for themselves - each option has a list of usernames who voted for it, making it rather obvious if someone has voted for themselves.

    These competitions would be stickied.

    What do people think?

Probably need to update it to get the right settings for the raw files from the D90. Check the website I'd say. :yep:

    Ah okay.

Though downloading an update could be a little problematic :ninja:

What's wrong with voting for yourself? If yo have two images, yours and another one. And yours was obviously better - like really obviously - don't you think it would be stupid to vote for the other persons? I guess you'd have to not vote at all. But how is that fair? In past compeitions i've done like this you've always been able to vote for yourself, and people don't have a problem with it. Maybe its because they're all actual designers and will be more mature. We vote for the better image if it's ours or someone elses.

What's wrong with voting for yourself is this is The Internet, and the idea of maintaining a perfect level of maturity where everyone doesn't automatically upvote themselves to win is a somewhat laughable idea. As such, you simply can't vote for yourself - if you think all the other entries are crap, you don't vote.

Sorry if you don't like it, but that's the easiest way to get this to work.

Why don't we have competitions, where we have a theme for example 'food' or 'the colour red' and then everyone posts photos based around that theme?
