How d'you say "Eddie Stobart"

Poll

I say...

Okay, this has really been hacking me off.

How d'you pronounce the word "Eddie Stobart" as in the big green lorry company to always see on the motorways.

I'm originally from Cumbria, where the business is based, and I've always said "Eddie Sto-bart"

However my friends who are from down south all say "Eddie Stow-bart"

What do you say?

It's not Stow. It's Sto.
It's Stow-bart.
Do you mean you say it as Stob-art?
Eddie Stow-bart, but apparently the correct pronunciation is the other one

Do you mean 'Stob' to rhyme with 'Rob'?

I would say Stow-bart.
I say 'Stobbart' not 'Stowbart'..... I'm from the 'south' as it were lol.
Stow-bart - and I'm not from down south. It just doesn't feel right pronouncing it Stob-art.

It's supposed to be Stob-bart with a short 'o'.

And, if this adds any weight to my statement, I actually live in Cumbria.

I say Stow-bart. If you say it as 'Stob-bart' then initially it would be spelt with two 'D's rather than the one (I would have thought?)
I always say Nor-bert Den-tres-angle.

Normally I would agree with you, but because it's a name, it's one of those weird exceptions.

Think he meant Stob-bart and Stow-bart.

I say stow, but the correct is stob - I think.

I don't really see the difference. I picked 'sto-bart' as I say it quite quickly.

THANK YOU!! I lived in kendal till I was 6, and that's how I learnt to say it. I now live in Shropshire, and here down south, all my freinds seem to say Stow bart instead
