I am 21. It's a long, long story; I'll try and do the short version...

I spent too long organising cricket matches in sixth form to do well enough to take an offered place at Oxford, decided not to bother going to my insurance offer so joined the Royal Navy (hence the ensign in my avatar). Buggered my back on Dartmoor, so left to read for a Marine Navigation degree at Plymouth Uni (hoping the back would clear up over the three years), then left that after one year for further medical reasons, so decided to have a go at an OU course.

I've not had much luck with my body... But it might all have been different if I'd bothered to even consider revising whilst in Sixth Form... :o:

Look at the absolutely fantastic experience you got in the Navy! I'd be far more proud of that than going to Oxford!

I really hope you get the OU degree - are you trying to do it in 3 years?

Totally agree about revising in Sixth Form. I'd be into a Masters by now, assuming I'd done ok at Durham.

Ah well, nothing like being a couple of years behind schedule to stoke the coals beneath ones buttocks.
