Default Would you study a Arts/humanities course in the US?

Why would any rational person pay 140 000 in fees (35 * 4) to study English/History etc?

I'm looking at the US for postgrad courses. They often give you lots of financial support

Trust an economist to look at this through the lens of rationality

Depends on finances. As an international I would probably get sod all. Wouldn't mind being in Texas you know. I'd be able to play more football there than in Durham!

Oh and one of friends in Houston has such a nice accent. She plays football so she must be well fit.

You reminded me of a great snippet:

Sir Humphrey
: Didn't you read the Financial Times this morning?
Sir Desmond Glazebrook
: Never do.
Sir Humphrey
: Well, you're a banker, surely you read the Financial Times?
Sir Desmond
: Can't understand it. Full of economic theory.
Sir Humphrey
: Why do you buy it?
Sir Desmond
: Oh, you know, it's part of the uniform.
