for a portfolio where I'm designing pages of a magazine, i need someone related in some way to green/environmental issues - like orlando bloom (connected with global cool) or a more eco-conscious person like Dick Strawbridge (its not easy being green), preferably a female really...
anyway, please help me think of some famous/ semi-famous environmentalists!

Uh environmentalists... David Suzuki? Peter Garrett? Steve Irwin? you could kinda say eo wilson (who's sufficiently famous that non-biologists have heard of him) although only in the sense of biodiversity stuff
James Lovelock. Charley Dimmock? Kate Humble? The last two aren't really environmentalists... More gardener and animal-commentator respectively. James Lovelock was the father of environmentalism though.
