Default Further Maths Dilemma - Help!

I'll try to put this simply:

I want to do Full A Level Further Maths now
i.e. FP1 FP2 FP3 S2 M2 S3

Currently i have been working towards an AS Level over 1.5 Years.

I'm 5/6ths through FP1, S2 is meant to be quite easy and FP2 is my worry

I want to try and do the full A Level, which will mean i have to do 3 units this june instead of the 1 i intended.

Do you think it is possible?
Will i be able to cope?
How long will FP2 take to do?
Are there any alternatives?

I'm doing the whole A level this year, and the original plan was this:

AS: FP1 M1 D2
A2: FP2 FP3 S2

I've already sat FP1 M1 and S2 in Jan, and am self learning FP2 FP3 and D2 for June. I did a chapter of FP2 in an hour last night (complex numbers) and reckon I can fully master it in a week, as long as I stay on top of it. I think you'll be fine as long as you leave some nice long study periods in your evenings!

It is possible.
It depends on the individual.
Not sure on how long FP2 will take...
Alternatives in what sense? As far as i'm aware, for a full A2 in further maths, you must do at least one of FP2 or FP3, plus other modules... not much alternative there..

depends on what other subjects your taking and doing FP2 and FP3 will be quite tricky any chance you could replace the FP3 with another module (because it isn't optional) but other than that, hard work nd ull be ok

I wouldn't do FP2 this year as it relies on C3/4 knowledge; unless you're doing the full A level maths in a year.

Hi there, I had a problem with FP2 and FP3 last year too!! My Further Pure teacher had to leave midway so we had to rush it through in like 4 weeks time, the whole of the content.

Then spent some more time doing papers and stuff.

I'd say looking at your academic record you shouldn't have a problem with FP2 (I know it's hard if it's Edexcel we're talking about) however practice and hard work should do the trick. Most of the integration will end up being pretty much easy.

Just to let you know I did C1,C2,C3,C4, M1,M2,M3,M4, FP1,FP2,FP3 and S1 all in one year. Nine of them by January... and got pretty good grades in most of them. All I had was an AS Maths Basis of CIE AS level maths at the beginning of the course, the rest of the modules were done by myself except for the FP modules. Got 578 in Maths and 591 in Further Maths. So you shouldn't have much trouble either. You got better GCSEs than I did, it all depends on the work you're about to put in this year!!

its possible and how long it will take depends entirely upon the individual you could do just fp2 or fp3 and not both and just use an applied module if you feel more comfortable with that style of maths
