Default Philosophy...

I'm just wondering,,,is philosophy anything like religous studies? I've heard its like RS but without the religion? (or at least...you don't study religions..just question them)

Because I really like the questioning part of RS, but i don't enjoy studying religions

Is this true? Thanks

Yes. Same critique but different topics. Religion is also one part of philosophy... philosophy can encompass any area of thought.

Philosophy is a very broad subject and therefore I don't think you can compare it to Religious Studies that easily. It definitely requires similar skills, but your approach does need to be a little different. There are very few guidelines that you need to strictly follow and although this may sound quite a clich, the emphasis is on thinking for yourself and justifying your opinion.

As edanon has already mentioned, the Philosophy of Religion is only a branch of Philosophy. There are many other branches, such as Logic, Metaphysics, Ethics, etc...
