    Need help!

On the Student Application form, in the parents section, it asks for the dependents (i'm assuming the other kids in the family). Then it says, "Income" -- what does this mean?
Is this the income of the dependents?

Also, why isnt tax deducted from the overall income you're supposed to provide? It also doesnt take into account that the person who receives the main income also has to pay for the other dependents in the family, not just the person who is going to FE?

I'm just wondering if the breakdown of what I may be entitled to is correct, I've not sent the form right now. I've asked for maximum of everything and my parents earn less than £25k. I will not be living with them during uni and my uni is in Manchester.
The maintenance loan I'm entitled is 3091
    The tuition loan is 3465
    HE grant is 2984
Am I getting the right amounts?

I'm finalising my re-application at the moment and it says the total amount after taking my household income into account is X amount, which is about £600 less than what I received last year - my household income hasn't changed at all so I'm confuuuused! Last year the maintenence loan was £5475 but this year it says I'm eligible for £4815. Any ideas why?

Does anyone know why they would remove the maintenance grant completely? I currently says:

Type Amount requested Amount you're entitled to
    Maintenance Loan Maximum £3,564.00
    Tuition Fee Loan Maximum £3,465.00

A few days ago it also said: Maintenance Grant - N/A - £money (edit: this has been removed now, hence my confusement)

They're not waiting for any evidence of sorts at all. So, what are they playing at?

Edit2: scratch that, I've just checked my 'correspondence' and they've posted me a letter which I assume will probably arrive the day after the deadline for student finance asking for my mothers financial details (which according to my application summary they don't need to receive.) I really don't understand why this needs to be such a difficult process its absurd, it's no wonder student feel so disenfranchised.

**** you student finance. **** you really ****ing hard you *****tain.

In the form it says 'do you have settled status in the UK?'
If I was born here those that mean I do? The confusing thing is it says 'if yes give the date you received this status' - What date is that?

    Help please

Check back over previous answers. I don't remember having that issue. Is it possible you've accidentally selected you were born outside the UK earlier in the form?

I changed my address and now my form is being reassessed. Will this cause any delays?

    Thanks.

Hi there, I am new to the forum.

I did my application for the 2012/2013 Academic year (yes the dreaded £9,000) And it has all gone well. I have just signed the Declaration and about to put it in the post. Etc.

My only bite is that I may or may not go to University. I have had a change of mind over the last month. The University I was planning to go to was Royal Holloway in London.

My main problem is the loan and the Accommodation pre-payment of £150.00. When it comes to results day and I decide I do not want to go to University, how can I cancel my Tuition Loan? I was going to look through all the pages but there were so many I decided to post on here. I will know right off on A2 Level Results Day on the 16th whether I want to go or not. If I cancel on the 16th of august will that give me enough time? As I assume that if I do it then the loan will have been cancelled before term time has even started so they wont have put any money into my account, however how can I cancel it and will they still charge me or something? Oh and the Accommodation pre-payment. When I tell the University that I am not going, will I get that paid back to me.

I hope someone will be able to help me,

    Best Regards,

    Bradley

hey i contacted Royal Holloway asking the question that if i didnt get the results for the course would i get the accomodation pre-pay back . They said
"Yes, I can confirm that if you do not receive the grades you require in order to study at Royal Holloway, the £150 accommodation application fee will be refunded to you. " so i think they should give you the money back if you choose to tell them your not going.

You should probably ask the housing just to confirm :
    StudentHousing@rhul.ac.uk

Hope it was a bit helpful sorry i dont know about your other question you should probably call student finance.

Hello this is my first year of applying for student finance.
This morning I got an email from SF saying my online student finance was now available to view, but the application still says being processed and I've noticed my entitlement has changed. .?
Do you think the new payment are what I will be getting or is it still likely to change ?

    Re: Student Finance Applications - Q & A
    Hi
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on this. I've just finished the second year of my full-time degree, but want to switch to the part-time degree now. I've been told that, even though I'll still be on the same course (just the part-time rather than the full-time version), I will have to change from the old fee system to the new fee system. This means that I will get a loan of £9000 for the two years that I do the part-time course. I'm worried about how repayments will work for this, though, as I'll have 2 years worth of loans under the old fees system, and then a £9000 loan under the new fee system. Has anyone else been in this situation? When I get a job earning over £20000, I don't want to be paying more than everyone else, by having money for both sets of loans taken out of my salary!

In Section 4 on the Student Finance form it asks for your universiy or college details and the address and I don't know whether to give my college's address or the central university address (for Cambridge). Could anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!

It's the one you think you're most likely to go to, if it chanes you just ring up finance and change it over the phone

Anybody else having this problem. I have sent off my birth certificate and identity declaration form twice now and both times I have had a letter back saying the form was incorrect. Now I am certain they were correct and I dont really have the chance to do the form again as both the people I have used as referees are now in available to me.

At this rate its not going to get sorted out in time for the start of my course.

Can somebody help me? Basically, my mum who is sponsoring me for my student finance application has been asked to send in her Decree Absolute even though it says that they have recieved it on 07/12/2009 when my older brother applied. Do i need to send it again or is that information sufficient. I mean why bother telling me that they have recieved it if it wasn't sufficient.
