Help! - A2 Totalitarian Dictatorship Essay In For Tomorrow!!

If anyone can help please post a reply, I have an A2 history essay in for tomorrow and am really struggling, the question is, To What Extent Were the Conditions for Totalitarian Dictatorship Created by Either the Ideological Thoeries of the 19th Century, or the Changing International Situation After WWI? I've done the changing international situation bit, but am really struggling with the ideological themes - i have no idea! Any help welcome, thankyou!!!

Erm, you might want to note that WWI and the economic regulation for the purpose of the war, and then the fact that the worlds major economies (apart from the US) were absolutely devastated after the war, was basically the end of classical liberalism.

Also the fact that Italy and Germany did not do as well as promised, and lost territory (respectively), made the growth of irredentism, and nationalism, arguably inevitable in those countries.
