however you dont need to show the charges on the Na and I, unless this is ionic in which case it would be Na+ + I- instead of Na+I-

Shouldnt it be I- left at the end? Not I2.
The equation doesnt balance out. It should either be:

Cl2 + Na+I- -----> Na+Cl- + I-
or
Cl2 + 2Na+I- -----> 2Na+Cl- + I2
I assume this is in water...if so:

Cl2(aq) + 2I-(aq) ---> I2(aq) + 2Cl-(aq)

yes in water this is right as although the Na+ are present they are spectator ions and so cancel form the overall equations
