How does ebay take your listing fee? I wasn't asked, automatic upon buyer's payment?

How does ebay charge you for listing?
Do they cut it off the money you can accept through paypal?
Just because I recently made a sell, and the only paypal involvement I actively had was withdrawing money after the seller's payment. At no point was I asked by ebay to sign in to pay them a share. Do they just take it off the payment the seller makes before it appears in your paypal?

You get invoiced every so often. If you have paypal linked it can come out of that.

Your account on ebay will now be in credit, which is a legitimate debt. Eventually you'll have to clear this debt in order to be able to list items, if you don't pay they will claim it from any details they have (bank details, paypal etc.)
