Looking for help with maths work/problems?

This University Mathematics forum is for discussion of mathematics that is specifically to do with studying at university.

That is, for questions like "Do you think I would enjoy a Maths degree", or "Should I apply to Warwick or Imperial?", or "Is it possible to change to maths from physics after one year?".

It is not for questions like "How do you integrate exp(-x^2)?". The correct forum for those questions is the Maths Forum that is part of the "Study Help" set of forums.

Even if you think "But this is a university level problem", the Maths Forum is still the correct place. There are a lot of people who studying maths at university level there - considerably more than on this forum.

Such posts will get moved to the correct forum anyhow, so please post in the right place to start with. That saves the moderators work and avoids this forum being cluttered with threads that have been moved.

When people post questions here that belong in the Maths forum, can people please ask them to post in the correct forum rather than answering their questions?

And/or report the thread for being in the wrong forum so a mod can move it.
