I got an offer for NatSci at Nottingham this year (AAA entrance requirements) with a Medicine personal statement, I've even applied to Nottingham medical school - lol. My instinct tells me that they didn't look at my personal statement at all and instead had an academic score cut off based on grades. This would not be the case for Cambridge and you will almost certainly not get a place on the NatSci course when they blatantly know you want to do medicine and will choose medicine over them. In their eyes you would be taking the offer away from somebody who is totally committed to the NatSci course.
