If you do your coursework on sources, a lot of the stuff is also needed for the exam, so learn it really well. Having said that, I did well on the first paper but had a disaster on the sources paper and still got an A*.
Read the textbook a hundred times the day before.

Spew out on page.
Turn up to exam and write down every fact you know in a structured manner adhering to the technique. This is what I do and I nearly always get 90%+. Literally I can write like 10 pages in 2hours on any given topic.

own knowledge learning is a must, dates and figures, particularly for the paper 2 stuff in AQA if thats what youre doing...

Past papers. lots of them. And make sure your sourcework is up to scratch enough- combine that with in depth detail and youre gonna get an A* for sure :smile:
