Re: Did you put on weight at uni?
During the first term, I lost quite alot, although I attribute it more to the fact I was really ill for a good month after freshers and spent way too much time sleeping to eat. In second term though, my body got used to all the diseases in halls, the alcohol and the diet change so unfortunately I gained weight.

Re: Did you put on weight at uni?
Yeah, about 3kg - my diet was pretty much the same as at home, with a few more carbs, less veg and same amount of snacking. The difference was that I wasn't walking loads anymore, as I used to get a train and then walk 20 minutes to school. And I guess the drinking + chips after adds calories...

Re: Did you put on weight at uni?LOL maybe the lack of alcohol in the summer? I've just finished my first year, and am working three jobs over the summer to afford a holiday, and restrict drinking to saturday nights only as a hangover at 5.30am in the morning with a full 12 hour shift to look forward to is just not fun.(Original post by cpj1987)
I was a size 12/14 when I started university. As time went by, I lost weight (particularly over the summer following second year when I dropped from a size 12/14 to a size 6/8 inexplicably in a month or two.
However, I moved in with my best friend in December, and having been influenced by his eating style I've since gone back to being a size 12.
I commute, and make sure that I get off early (when its not raining!) so I walk a couple of extra miles when im at uni... a lot of people do put on weight whilst at uni because they either run out of money for anything other than potnoodles, drink alot without increasing exercise, or get to essay/exam time and realize that, at 4am in the morning after spending an AGE in the library that you are going to eat that whole pizza you've just ordered, jean size or not!
Still, uni is also a chance to join some sports clubs ect that you havent done before which helps quite a bit. I took up snowboarding (by snowboarding I mean faceplanting repeatedly with a snowboard attached to my feet lol). -
Re: Did you put on weight at uni?
I put on so much weight at uni that every time I saw my reflection in the mirror, I had to pay SeaWorld £5.
Which was a shame as I went from being chubby in my mid teens to being slim and good looking in my last year of 6th form and gap year.
Now it's falling off though! *happy dance* -
i put on a few kgs. I think the heaviest i've been is 59kg. Since finishing uni i've been exercising regularly an my weight is back down to 56kg. FortunAtely I have a crazy fast metabolism so never get super heavy no matter what i eat.
which fat bastard negged me for this? Exercise and get fit instead of wasting your time negging people you loser!

I know this might sound like a random spam thing, but I'm currently trying to loose some weight, and I've pretty much tried most of the diets and they all left me starving, but I tried the slimming world diet, and its actually really good! I've lost 9lb in just under four weeks, (only 24lb to go!) and I'm actually never hungry... I don't get how it works, but it does! You can still eat stuff like pasta and potatoes, and meat ect, you just cut out high fat foods, and restrict bread ect. Its kinda complicated but once you get the hang of it its not that bad... Although you do have to pay for membership, to get the books and stuff, you can still find the info online for free (I'm not a member cause I'd rather pay the £6 a week on going gym, and Ive just borrowed my sisters book, as she's doing it too). Plus, it aims to have you loose like 2lb a week, which isnt that much but as it changes the way you eat, but does it in a more practical way, you're more likely to keep it off... If you wanted to know more about it you can PM me and I'll send you a pdf version of the book, and vaguely explain it to you if you want?
if I explain it and send you the pdf you dont have to pay to find the info lol.
I'm hoping to be a size 10 by the time I go back to uni at the end of september. You just have to realize that, yeah it'd be awesome to loose a load of weight really fast, its not gonna happen unless you make a change, and I've FINALLY found a change that means I dont have to be hungry cause some stupid app says I can only have a weight watchers milkshake and a carrot a day! -
Hey, I tried slimming world before but didn't understand it :/ lol
I'm currently at weight watchers and I've lost 8lbs so far so I'm happy with that ATM but as I want to lose more lol I'm combining ww with slim fast lol each slim fast shake is worth 5 ww points, my ww plan allows me 31 points a day the slim fast shakes are nice and filling too
Good luck with your weight loss and if I find that my plan isn't working I may consider sw again
