Uniform mark Vs Normal mark :S [Explain please]

Well I did a AQA maths gcse paper modual 1 for revision which is 2x30mins out of 23 each.

I got 35/46 from all together and I wanted to know what grade that was. I went on to the spec, scrolled down to the modual 1 grade boundaries and they were out of 108 uniform mark :s-smilie:

Raw marks are converted to UMS marks according to grade boundaries agreed by the examiners after the results are reviewed. After each exam the number of raw marks required to be awarded a specific UMS is adjusted up or down to recognise that sometimes the exam is a little harder and sometimes a little easier. Your 3 modules offer a maximum of 600 UMS, the grade awarded for a specific UMS never changes.
