I'm guessing you're referring to personal statement, if so I'll give you a piece of general advice. Your personal statement exists for a matter of months, your gap year experiences will (or at least should) contribute to who you become in the future, so don't spend your gap year doing something you don't really want to just because you think it will help you get into uni. Do something you've always wanted to do, something you are passionate about and, if you're going to mention it in your personal statement, make sure it's clear you made the most of the opportunities you had.

If you're really concerned that you need something in your personal statement to get the place then make it up and then follow the above advice. A gap year should be the most liberating, thrilling and rewarding year of your life so far, don't miss out because you were busy working in a charity shop 5 hours a week in the hope of getting into a marginally better uni.
