I'll go with whatever the general consensus is on here.*

What do you reckon is ultimately the best choice - Politics and Economics at Leicester or straight Politics at Newcastle? Strictly academical wise, like.

I also have offers for straight politics from Liverpool and Hull but don't think I'll be choosing them.

*this is not even remotely true.

(oh, and I realise these threads have a habit of descending into "omg why did u choose those rubbish universities insted ov oxbridge!!!!!!one!!!" etc so if we can try and refrain from that please that ladies and gentleman. :smile:

Leicester and Newcastle rank about the same, academically economics is better regarded by politics, although they are both top degrees to own. It depends what you want to do in life, economics will allow you to apply for a wider range of graduate jobs such as management and accountancy. By the way, Newcastle will be alot more fun than Leicester. Hope that helps
