Default If you had to choose: True love or a successful career?
 
This boils down to two hypothetical options:

Meeting your soul mate, finding true love and having an undying devotion for each other. A below-average career.

vs.

A successful and lucrative career. No true or real love.

Don't be boring and say "both" or anything like that, this is basically asking: success/money or love? You cannot have both, this is a hypothetical, polar extremes question.

Such a hard question. I think I would prefer love, because I know I would be much happier to come home to my soul mate after doing a below-average job as you put it, rather then to come home to nobody whilst in a successful career.

Career hands down.

And if it was a REALLY successful, high-flying and pioneering career where I was the best ever person in my field...

...then I wouldn't mind never loving, having a relationship, or having a sexual experience ever again.

I'm on my way to both (got the love part and career's just beginning), but if I had to give one up I'd lose the great career without a second thought.
