Default Do you use divacup/mooncup etc??

I've recently found out about these menstrual cups and wondered if anyone out there has used them, and what pros/cons they have about them:
a) in comparison to towels/tampons
b) in comparison to each other (different types of cup)

I use mooncup and it's just fantastic.

I find I have to change it less than tampons (no risk of TSS, just change it when it feels full), don't have to worry about carrying things around (I don't wear a bag all that often), plus it just feels so much nicer/more natural - towards the end of my period tampons would always be a tad dry when pulling them out and the 'scraping' feeling is ******* awful. None of that with mooncup. It also only costs £20 and lasts a v. long time, as well as being more environmentally friendly than tampons/pads.

I've looked into buying a mooncup a few times (I've not heard of a divacup) but never got round to buying one because of the price (about £20). I've read a fair few reviews and they seem to be a bit like marmite, you love 'em or hate 'em. I wouldn't buy one if you were squeamish or scared of your own lady parts

I'll probably get round to buying one evenutally, cos I like that you save money and put less in landfills but whenever I'm on my period the last thing I want to do is start fiddling with a mooncup...

I really would recommend buying one to try it out for a couple of months. If you like it then it's seriously worth it. It really isn't a fiddle or hassle at all. OK, maybe the first time you use it you need to get the technique right (you have to sort of fold it in half to get it in) but I had it down by my second period. If you can't get used to it, it's just 20 quid (of which you'll save a bit of that money in the months you're trying it out and not buying tampons).

I use the mooncup and it is amazing. I used to hate having my period and now I just forget that it is happening. You don't have to change it as often as tampons/pads and you can wear it in bed etc. I think for the price they are it is definitely worth it - they last for years and you never have any waste. At first it's a bit strange putting it in and out, but it become second nature and you don't need to worry about it. I've had mine for about 3 years but only used it for 1, I would recommend you buy one and then just wait until you are ready. At least that way you know exactly what you are working with!

I use the Mooncup too. Have done for way over a year now.
It's great not having to worry about fitting towels/tampons into my budget, or having them in the house at all times.
I used towels before the Mooncup; I couldn't use tampons. Obviously they were uncomfortable and relatively useless (especially in bed) - I can keep the Mooncup in all day without knowing it's there, and it does take a whole day to fill up.
Definitely worthwhile to try.
