C4 what's with all the algebra?

I'm pretty good at elementary algebra but it's pretty annoying. But, C4 is full off that crap.

In C3 all you had to do is differentate something then simplify it. But now you have the binomial theorem, partial fraction, integration, vectors, parametric equations and integration by parametric equations.

It's just stupid. 80% of the book is algebra, 10% is numerical methods and 10% integration. Pretty stupid just having algebra.

Firstly, I'm not saying algebra is rubbish as I'm really good at algebra so it's sort of my strength. But, they could add some variety in C4. It just seems like someone thought, lets make C3 trig and then C4 algebra.

P.S. Although, Further Maths has too much algebra too but atleast you learn new concepts like complex numbers and polar co-ordinates.

I actually like.
It makes me feel i'm doing actual maths, unlike M1.

Its more like 80% integration....
algebra is vert important when it comes to higher maths... I hated it in lower schools because I was a lazy git...

ps. armin played like **** at TE... :P

I haven't started C4 yet but am judging from the integration content I'm not looking forward to it
... you must be confusing Algebra with elementary algebra.

... dam i was foiled at last (my post was actually meant to be serious showing that algebra does not relate to 'changing a sign and changing the sign' - but meh)
its maths, what do you expect?

what's with having mostly algebra?
quit bitching simp.

i do further maths now- i dont remember what it was like to use actual numbers anymore... :P

Agreed. What is a number, anyway?

lol too true

how are you finding it? i'm loving the matricies but i'm dreading going back for FP2 revision....

Eh, I don't even know what a matrix is anymore =P

You know, getting rid of the ellipses at the start of every post you make would make you seem a bit less rude and dismissive. Not much, but a bit.

I'm personally enjoying C4 more than any other Maths module (bar Parametic equations).

I find it funny how trig haunts me [OCR]..C1 there was none...C2 there was the basics and then introduction of identities and it took me ages to see what to do to solve equations with them. But I hoped that would be it for trig..then C3 and DA formulas, minor-functions and new IDs..yeah, well got there in the end and the trig qns on the paper were OK I think. So surely, that's it trig-wise?

Hell no..you can differentiate (& thus integrate) trig functions now! ******* brilliant... hate the stuff!
