can some one tell me what grade i got in a level maths
c1 - 95
c2 - 86
m1 - 83
c3- 97
c4 - 93
m2 - 85
is this an A* or just an A?

This is an A* I think, because you got over 90% on your A2 core modules.

Depends on the Specification, I'll be wagering towards an A, because A* was only recently introduced

Its an A, because A*s are not in effect for the people currently studying A2

but im doing my AS units in the other subjects rite now

No it won't change anything as you'd be resitting the old spec and any certificate would be old spec, and in the old spec you cannot get A*.

If you cash your grades in for June 2010 and get it certified then, then it should be A*.

I didn't think the new spec maths had been introduced yet? Isn't first teaching in 2010 or 2011?

Well apparently not, I just would have thought you would. It's probably not cause A2 exams for the new specs haven't been released. And it kinda still counts as the 'old' spec even though maths hasn't changed. If you get what I mean.

No. Stop hearing what you want to hear and accept it, you can't get an A* no matter what on the course you did.

Well according to everyone, everthing I say is completly wrong
But i've read everywhere they say it won't disadvantage you, cause there's people doing gap years and stuff too who apply without the A* and it's only just been introduced. But then I don't get it when they say all their offers are gonna be A*AA. And depending on where you apply, they may just ask to see your UMS scores as well.

Nobody will have A*s in maths next year.

The new spec maths is due for first teaching in 2011, which means the first examination won't be until 2012, and not many people will take all 6 units in a year, so A*s in maths A2 will only really start appearing from 2013 onwards.

Is that why UCL (and others) was an A* in maths for the 2010 entry?
