You win some, you lose some. It just wasn't your day. You might do better this summer.

Can't you retake it in June? Do more past question papers to identify your weakness.

deal with it. nothing you can do. Get your paper back, find your mistake and learn from it. If it's essay technique, write a **** load of essays for your teacher to mark until it's right. If it's knowledge based then it's just a simple matter of revision. No point crying about it, find your mistake and correct it

mate i know exactly how you feel, i've never worked so hard for anything as i did for my 3 economics exams in January and i came back just scraping Bs in all 3. I cried a lot - it just felt like i was an absolute failure that even with all that work I still couldn't get the result that i wanted.
i've got my papers back and am going over where i lost the marks, that's all you can do to improve for next time.
i'm completely demotivated in economics at the moment because of that mark and i don't want to be because i'm going off to do it at uni!
But it is getting better - i had a couple of disappointing results in August and after a while it made me so much more determined and i'm starting to feel that way about these ones.
Chin up, learn from your mistakes, move on, and do better next time

Exams aren't the be all and end all. Just repeat that to yourself...

I know what you mean. People may call it sad, but I would be so so so depressed if I didn't get an A. This is not sarcasm.
Anywho, forget about it, and focus on the retake. It's over now, nothing you can do about it.

Mentally chastise myself for a couple of days, then have stern word with myself and drag myself back to my books. I obviously went wrong somewhere, and I'm not going to fix that by crying and staring at my ceiling, am I?

When I got my GCSEs I spent the day comfort-eating, drinking and panicking about my future.

Oddly, when I got a borderline C (which I'm having remarked) in chemistry I was oddly calm about it. I simply got up and moved on.

I think you need to understand they are just numbers on a bit of paper, GCSEs can be misproved by A-levels and A-levels can be retaken.

I revised like hell and still only came out with a D at AS in chemistry.
You win some you lose some.
Retake the ones you did worse in and then next time you'll be even more motivated for your other exams as to not get this feeling again.

Use it as a positive =]

see if you got like a B or C and are complaining about average..

my mate got a B in AS Maths and a C in AS Biology and he is re-sitting them both.. pointless IMO.

My economics teacher at college said exactly the same thing. Working your nuts off doesn't guarantee you straight A's, everybody has their limit and everybody reaches their plateau, whether thats an E or an A regardless of what you might be deluded into thinking.
Parents all think that their little angel is smarter than anybody else and automatically assume that they should be getting straight A's when they might just not have the brainpower academically to do it, just a fact of life.
