Chemistry Practical

Just undertaking a practice AS chemistry practical on titration - titrating caustic soda with sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate to see what percentage of each acid is in one mole of the caustic soda...

This one mark question really got me, can anyone help please:

"Explain why the total numbers of moles of acid is equal to the number of moles of hydroxide plus twice the number of moles of carbonate"

Rep on offer for answers
