Re: Women want equality.(Original post by Martyn*)
Yesterday I witnessed something horrific; something which shook me in an instance.
My male friend was punched in the face by a girl. I saw it. She walked up to him, spoke some words which were not so lightly thrown, and then give him a punch which even I felt.
He told me the reason. My friend was involved in a bit of trouble, nothing much really but certainly a punch in the face was out of order. Apparently, she was trying to show off in front of her mates and she punched him.
That got me thinking. It is very unlady-like to punch a man in the face. I could understand a man doing it to a man, because that's what men have always done to sort out any problems (and use guns and knives, yes, okay!) in some circumstances. My point is this: woman demand that men should not hit them, yet it is perfectly acceptable it seems for woman to do what men do and start punching guys.
And that old dictum: "Women are the delicate little flowers..." just doesn't hold water anymore.
So now that women want equality then they deserve to get it good and hard. That means they should submit to the law that they have set - no more shall women be protected from the fists of men. That's equality! That's what they want, isn't it? Women now can do the jobs that men can do (within reason), can own a home, can drive a car, can vote, can become professors and teachers.
Is it time for women to get equality in the fullest sense of that word?
Oh please. I would have taken you seriously if you had not said this. -
Re: Women want equality.what's your source? I study domestic violence at Uni and whilst there is a significant proportion of male victims, women remain the majority! xx(Original post by Vokes)
"There is a common myth about domestic violence, that the vast majority of the time women are the victims and men are the perpetrators. However, studies of domestic violence show a roughly equal balance between the genders."
That is a summary based on government statistics on domestic violence.

Re: Women want equality.I will have a look for it again later, cooking dinner atm. I believe it took into account estimates of cases that go unreported and the fact that more women report domestic violence than men do (even tho a large proportion of both sexes go unreported).(Original post by blinkbelle)

Re: Women want equality.Hahahaha yes, this!(Original post by DisgruntledMoth)
I wish men would stop telling women what all women apparently want.
This includes subjects of discrimination, muscle ratio, and the length of lower appendages.
Back to the OP:
If I hit a guy I would expect to be hit back. Anyone hitting anyone is wrong.
And I'm sorry, but domestic violence is a huge issue, and if you think "women shouldn't be protected" from that, then you're an idiot. If your wife was beating you up, breaking your ribs and your nose, I'm pretty sure you'd want some protection too.
