Default straightenersss

my current remingtons wet to straight have decided to pack in, so i need to get a new pair and wouldnt mind trying a different pair, theres no budget as such, but if im spending big i want to know theyre really good hence creating this topic,

naturally my hairs quite thick and curly, so was considering a wider straightener http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4427115/c_1/1|category_root|Health%2Band%2Bpersonal%2Bcare|121 09008/c_2/2|cat_12109008|Hair%2Bcare|12109035/c_3/3|cat_12109035|Straighteners|12109042.htm

but im not sure if my hairs really long enough to use them?

all online reviews are done for girls hair :/ so its been kinda hard to find anything to help me, im leaning towards t3 tourmaline's atm, any suggestions?

I seriously doubt your hair needs wider plated straighteners. I have a friend (female) who has hair several inches past her shoulders which is crazily curly and thick, and even she doesn't really need wide plate ones.

Bear Grylls doesn't even have hair, what would he do with straighteners I wonder?

Edit: Also, what do expensive hair straighteners do? I thought they were just hot bits of metal

I don't have any other suggestions, but they would work a lot better and cause less damage to your hair if whatever you end up with has actual ceramic plates rather than aluminium or whatever with poor quality ceramic coatings. Also, you probably don't want to hear this, but I do have the GHD minis, and think they're really, really good, but I've never properly tried any other brand

I'm not implying anything. Men who straighten their hair need to look up the definition of 'man', beat themselves over the head with the book, and mend their ways.

Thank you, in a world of metrosexuals and skinny-jean wearing, long-haired excuses for me, someone has to set a standard.

I just use my curling iron (run it down the hair instead of wrapping it)...had no idea straighteners could be so complicated.

Your hair looks good though so all the power to you.

Don't get wide plates, they're awkward to use if your hair is short.
